February 2, 2018

Hi Everyone,

February is looking like a very busy month!  You will have received a red calendar and letter explaining 'Club Red' in your child's planner on Wednesday.  This is a school wide program and we really hope that everyone participates.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Updates/Reminders/Questions

*February 2nd is our first special reading day.  Please send a flashlight with your child along with a book he/she would like to read.  We are buddying with a Kindergarten class so please send picture books
*The PAC just gave us a poster to hang in our windows:  There will be treat days on February 6th and 7th (frozen yogurt-$2 and chips $1)
*The Leadership group also just started putting up posters in the hallway that they are doing a bakesale fundraiser for the people of Haiti on February 8th.
*It will be the 100th day of school on February 27th.  Please remember that we are 'wearing' our 100 day projects this year.
*We will have our class Valentine's Day party on Wednesday, February 14th.  Thanks in advance to the following people for sending snacks:  Cheese/crackers (Danika), Sweet Treat (Angelina), Popcorn and/or Chips (Carter) and 'Other' (Wyatt).  We don't have anyone signed up to bring a small veggie tray for this party but if anyone would like to please email me.  Thank you!
*Here is a class list for anyone who would like to get started on making Valentine's cards:

Lucas   Paityn   Cash   Eugene   Dyllan   Logan   Isabella   Riana   Danika   Angelina
Landon   Collette   Wyatt   Nevaeh   Carter   Quinn   Averyelle   Mataya   Royce   Austyn

*Reminder that we are skating in the afternoon on February 20th.  We have submitted our field trip form to Mrs. Watkins for approval so you should be receiving an email via the parent portal if you have not already done so.
*There will be a literacy night for parents on February 15th from 6:00-7:00.  More information is on the Fairview Facebook Page and Website.  Babysitting will be available and you will have the opportunity to stay for half an hour after the meeting to read with your child.  Please RSVP if you plan to participate (see below)
*The week of February 20th, students can bring in 1-3 books to donate to the book swap.  On Friday, everyone will be able to select 1 book to take home.

I have updated the calendar on this blog to include the additional dates mentioned above.  As I mentioned earlier, it is going to be a fun and busy month.

Thank you for all of your support,

Amanda Roberts
