January 27/22

 Hi Everyone,

I hope you and your families are all well :)

Updates/Reminders/Thank you's

*Please send an additional mask with your children each day, in case the one they are wearing gets wet, I have had a lot of requests for these recently

*Thank you for your support with our new spelling program.  Duotangs will continue to come home on Wednesday and Thursday nights for homework if it is not completed during class time.  Please return the duotang each day.  We will have our weekly quiz on Friday and students will have to show that their spelling assignment is complete before they go to 'Freetime Friday'.

*Thank you for doing the daily health check and continuing to keep your children home if they are feeling unwell

*Please look out for the 'Club Red' notice and calendar on Monday, January 31st.  This is a fun, school-wide reading program we will be doing for the month of February.  It is a winter olympics theme this year and includes a home reading component that begins on February 1st

*I will be absent on Monday due to a longstanding medical appointment

*Last week, your child brought home a Canadian flag/information letter about an upcoming presentation they will be doing.  There is detailed information in the letter but please feel free to email me with any questions.  When you are adding photos etc. to the flag, please keep them on the red parts of the flag only,  so that we can still see that the background is a flag.  If you would like more room to add pictures, you are welcome to use the back as well.  Also, please have your child write their first and last name on the front of their poster (middle names are optional). Please send the poster in with your child on the day of their presentation.  These will be laminated and added to your child's memory book

We will be exchanging Valentine's Day cards on Monday, February 14th.  Here is a list of the students in our class so that everyone can be included:

Alexa, Luciano, Abinasee, Gianna, Sukhtej, Ethan, Carys, Miya, Brielle, Hailee, Forrest, Maddex, Logan, Carson, Evelyn, Luca, Kinsley, Oskar, Sienna

*We will be having our class party on Monday, February 14th.  If the following people could please send in treats on/before, Thursday, February 10th, that would be much appreciated.

We currently have 19 students in the class (FYI for people, below, who are sending in treats). Your child should bring a snack/lunch as usual, we will be having the party later in the day.

January 13/22

 Happy New Year, Everyone!

I hope you all had a good winter break and were able to enjoy some family time and stay healthy.

Updates/Reminders/Thank you's

*We are now heading into our study of Canada.  One of the activities we will be doing will be to create a 'Great Canadian' poster about ourselves.  More information will be coming home with the poster background, once it is made but for now, I just wanted to let you know that some photos of your child at different ages will be used if at all possible

*There is a lot of confusing information circulating around Covid and when it is safe for people to return to school.  I hope that the following links will help alleviate some of the confusion.

*Thank you for continuing the daily health check and informing the school if/when your child is absent due to illness

*Tomorrow is Black Excellence Day, Fairview leadership students are encouraging everyone to wear black in recognition of this important day

*Your child is getting a winter poem for this round of Reader's Workshop.  A copy will come home in your child's planner bag this week or early next week.  Please help them practice for their group presentation.

Thank you!
