Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had an outstanding weekend!

We are continuing to love our ocean theme in Division 8.  The students are very enthusiastic and are super excited to see our classroom transforming into an ocean paradise.  I had planned on moving onto an insect theme next week (we have a bug visit tomorrow as you know) but we still have so much we want to learn about the ocean that we have decided to focus on it a bit longer.

Thank you to everyone who sent in milk jugs.  We now have enough for 'Mind Up' day.

Just a reminder, if you are doing a spring clean up in your homes and you find any gently used toys or books that might be enjoyed by other children I am happy to accept them for the classroom, particularly lego people, building materials, dolls/clothes etc.

Thanks so much,

Mrs. Roberts

Congratulations to everyone in Division 8 for your outstanding job at the poetry recital today.  You all did an amazing job!  Not only did you present your poem really well, you were a polite audience when the other speakers were reciting their poems.  Jordan, Kaiden, Krystel, Jaden and Grace deserve a big congratulations for learning 3 long poems AND making up their own actions for the shark poem they chose.  Well done!

Next week a few students from our class will be entering the speed stacking competition at Westview.  Good luck to Jordan, Kaiden, Daniel, Sterling, Stephanie and Tessa!  We hope you have a great experience.  (A reminder to parents of these children to please submit permission slips if you have not already done so).  Thank you!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms and grandmas who make such a big difference in your children's lives.  They are lucky to have you!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Everyone,

We have had quite a busy and exciting week in Division 8.  Our class did an outstanding job of presenting during their musical theater performance on Wednesday.  Each and every one of you should be proud of the great job you did. Many of our class members also participated in the Primary Cross Country race the same day.  They worked very hard and everyone completed the one kilometer race with a smile on their faces.  Well done!  We are continuing to explore the ocean and have begun receiving our new Reader's Workshop books which should be practiced at home as they will be presented to the class.  Your child has also received new Just Right Reading books and should be reading these at home as well.  We have also begun our math unit on measurement and will begin a new round of stations next week.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Mrs. Roberts
