Friday 6 November 2015

Hi Everyone,

It has been a busy week in Division 6.  We have wrapped up all of our Halloween activities and are back to learning about Canada.  Everyone is very excited about our new Reader's Workshop activities and Canada Theme booklet.  I hope that you can spend some time with your children discussing what a great country Canada is and why we are so lucky to live here.

Reminders/Updates

*Wednesday, November 11 is Remembrance Day (school is not in session)
*Our class will be singing a song in the assembly on Nov. 10th (see monthly calendar for details)
*For our Christmas concert/play this year our class will be 'Who's' (from the Grinch)  They will be wearing pyjamas
*A Menchie's card has been sent home with your child today.  It is a Fundraiser for the PAC.  20% of what you purchase at Menchies in the next 6 months will come back to the school (you need to show the card)
*our beanbag chair is broken!  If anyone has a beanbag cover you don't use (or knows where I can purchase one at a reasonable price) can you please let me know?  I still have the foam chips.
*if anyone has left over craft bits they would like to donate to the class they would be greatly welcome, the students love to create in our craft corner!  Thank you!
*we are still short drivers for the upcoming field trip on November 20th, if you have not yet registered your child (via the portal) please do so ASAP so we know if we are able to go
*a portal announcement was also sent to you regarding a health talk on Nov. 27th.  You need to give permission if you would like your child to participate (this was sent out to everyone in the school by Mrs. Watkins)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
