We have been enjoying a Social Studies/Personal Planning focus for our themework this month. We have been learning a lot about each other and the great country that we live in. We are presently exploring Canada via pictures and stories and completing a Canada book of our own. We are also exploring Canadian pioneers, aboriginal people, Canadian animals and geography via our Reader's Workshop and Explorations activities.
We have spent September focusing on learning classroom routines, finding out more about each other, discussing how to be a good friend and exploring the world of colour via science experiments and art projects. We have also discussed the signs of Fall. Our focus for October will be 'Bats' and 'Halloween'. I encourage you to help your children find interesting bat facts, they really are amazing creatures!
ReplyDeleteWe recently spent some time focusing on Fire Safety and we are now enjoying our Halloween and Bat Themes. The children are really enthusiastic about these two topics and we are having a great time exploring them. Ask your children to tell you some of the amazing facts they have learned about bats. They are such amazing creatures!
