October 24 Update

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying the day off today.  Luckily the rain seems to be holding off so far.

Comfort Kits

Some of you will have received your child's comfort kits from last year.  These were sent home so that you can update the information and change out any snacks that have passed their due date.  If you need a new information sheet, Mrs. Kirves has put them on the parent portal so that you can print one off from there.  Just a reminder to everyone that each child should have a comfort kit at school in case of an emergency.

Supplies

Most students have all of their supplies now but some are still outstanding.  I will be giving these students a checklist this week so they can check off what is missing and bring it home as a reminder.  Also, please send in a pair of inside shoes for your children if you have not already done so.  This helps to keep our school clean and safe (floors aren't wet and therefore less slippery.

Save the Date

After Halloween your child will be bringing home a permission slip to go skating on the afternoon of Monday, November 17th .  We will need drivers and volunteers to help with this field trip.  If you do not skate please feel welcome to join us anyway, we can also use the extra help getting skates on everyone!  Please also note that you must have a driver's abstract/volunteer form on file in the office in order to drive.  This is a very simple process and no longer requires a trip to the DMV as they will fax a copy of your driving record to Fairview.  Also, please remember that you need to provide a booster seat for your child as we have a very limited supply at the school.

Halloween Party

This week we will be having our Halloween party!  Thanks in advance to these students and their families for sending snacks:  Karman (veggie plate), Dharma (cheese/crackers or sandwich quarters), Jacob (sweet treat), Jaxon, (popcorn, chips or pretzels)  and Jordyn (sweet treat).

Please note that students are welcome to wear their costumes but should be prepared to go outside at recess and lunch.  I recommend that students wear their costume over a set of clothes so they can easily slide them off to go out and play. Thanks so much!

Mrs. Roberts
